Mike Lipe
Hello Salinas! My name is Michael Lipe. I was born and raised here in Salinas and it is now my privilege to be running for Mayor.
I am currently employed as a logistics manager for a local transportation company but have also owned and operated business here in Salinas, employing residents and contributing directly to our local economy.
Growing up in Salinas, with long term family roots, has given me a personal and vested interest in the well being of our community. I have first hand experience with the issues facing Salinas both as a citizen and a business owner.
As a civic-minded Salinas native, I am running to bring a new perspective to our city government.
When Salinas comes together and unites its businesses, leaders and citizens, we can accomplish anything! The strides we have made in public safety, law enforcement and health care are tangible. I will continue to work with and strengthen these relationships, as they are cornerstones of our community.
Our safety will never be compromised or defunded.
Our agricultural industry is a leader internationally and why we are known as the Salad Bowl Capital of the World. This partnership is paramount to creating a thriving and sustainable Salinas.
But we need to refocus our energy on the needs of Salinas and utilize these resources towards making our community stronger!
Issues at the forefront are:
· Homelessness and Housing
· Infrastructure
· Financial Responsibility
· Ag Tech Career Opportunities
· Housing
· Business Friendly Environment
I am motivated to make these changes and create a better community for us now and for our future! I live in Salinas with my wife, Robyn Cloninger Lipe, and we are raising 6 boys here as part of the next Salinas generation. Both Robyn and myself have a Salinas history of multi generations and we are proud to and grateful to call Salinas home.
I am inspired and passionate about being the next Mayor of Salinas. I want to address the needs of the community and its people.
